Please help me decide!
Right im not a good person for gathering the best information about a mmorpg unless pointed in the right direction, below i shall tell you what i think this game will be like ( tell you what i know) and i hope to see some one correct me if i'm wrong and add some more basic information.
Players can only be hunmans but can choose from a range of different classes and professions. Players can join and create guilds and takeover different areas of the map so it is like a battle for domination really. the pvp is strictly kept to certain areas and you can only have 8 v 8 max!!! (sucks) generally im comparing this game to World of Warcraft since it is the only other mmorpg ive played but im attracted to this game due to the monthly fee is ??8.99 cheaper. Can any1 tell me if it is a good game to buy and can any1 who has played world of warcraft tell me what similarities they have. Thanks! |

If you are expecting it to be a substitute to WoW, don't waste your money. Stick with the game you like. |

Well thanks for the answers, i was hoping the part about guilds being able to take over different areas of the map and keeping it for thier own welfare would of been great but nevertheless i got nothing to compare this game against, i dont want to have to buy it and dislike it so i am trying to find out as much as i can before i make my final decision.
is there any areas in the game where you can just attack any random person and not have to enter some sort of arena or ask to fight some one. Or is everyhting to do with pvp arena based or am i wrong? |

All pvp is arena based. But a very large amount of the game is PvE, which is very well done. The land is absolutely huge and plenty to explore.
However, I have to agree with you on not knowing what it's like as there truely isn't anything to compare it to really. It is a really good game in my opinion and I bought it because I had played it previously at E3 and the WPE in october. Sadly, not everyone has got the chance and has only recently heard about it, which means to see what it's like, they'd have to take a leap of faith and throw their money in for the game. |

Cool thanks, where is E3 held cause i would kinda want to go but i live in the United Kingdom, but thats off-topic.
I just feel this game is running thin in termms of characters and the ammount of different things you can do, is it just me or is there only an option of fighting other players arena based and continually fighting elementals over and over . And a limit of llevel 20 max is a bit low is it not or is it hard to get to 20 and what to do there after? |

Apparently level 20 is just the start of the fun. I don't know for sure as I've only just hit the cap but I know there's still plenty in PvE to do. It's not really that hard to get there as I've been just taking it slow. I don't know what you mean by fighting elementals over and over, but if you're talking about a team full of elementals, they wont last long at all in PvP.
E3 is held in LA I think, I wasn't there personally but ArenaNet allowed anyone to download the client and play the alpha during E3. |

Ok, you forgot Guild vs. Guild.. the BEST thing GW has to offer.
There is nothing like and 8v8 with catapults, lockpickers, capture the flag, and much more thrown at you. Had much the same feeling as WoW's Raids. |

But there is no suprise to it, you know you're going to be fighting some one unlike wow where you can be jumped at any time, also its limited to 8 v 8, thats kinda a low number considering ive seen raid on wow which are up to 100 - 200 players fighting at the same time. And soon siege weapons are going to be introduced aswell, so all the better. Aswell as the abilty to take over areas of land fir the alliance or the horde, this makes you feel liek yu're doing something for your team and really does make sense if it were real.

Please take a look at this thread, and also at the sticky on levels at the very top of the Q&A forum.
The search button also works wonders, as these questions are fairly common.
